About Taghazout

Why travellers come to Taghazout

Taghazout is a small Berber fishing village on Morocco's Atlantic coast, 19 kilometres north of Agadir, that has quietly become the surf capital of North Africa and one of the world's most-loved laid-back beach destinations. Hand-painted whitewashed houses tumble down the hillside to the beach, blue wooden boats line the sand, and the smell of grilled fish drifts out of the cliffside cafés at sunset. Despite a wave of new boutique hotels, surf camps and yoga retreats, Taghazout has kept the unhurried, salt-soaked rhythm of the fishing village it has always been.

For surfers, Taghazout is legendary. The 15-kilometre stretch of coast between Imourane, Taghazout proper, Tamraght and Aourir hosts a string of world-class right-hand point breaks — Anchor Point, Killer Point, La Source, Mysteries, Boilers, Hash Point and Panoramas — that work most consistently between September and April on the long North Atlantic swells. The waves break with mechanical precision over rocky reefs, drawing professional surfers in winter and welcoming complete beginners on the sandy bay beaches of Banana, Crocro and Devil's Rock the rest of the year. Dozens of certified surf schools and surf camps operate out of Taghazout, offering daily lessons, multi-day camps and board hire at every level.

Beyond surfing, Taghazout has become a year-round destination for yoga retreats, breath-work, sound-healing, meditation and a fast-growing community of digital nomads. The village's rooftop yoga shalas overlook the ocean, vegan cafés and speciality coffee bars line the main beach road, co-working spaces have appeared in restored riads, and the warm Atlantic climate (sunny, dry, never too hot) makes Taghazout an ideal long-stay base from October through May.

Day-trip options from Taghazout are excellent. Paradise Valley — a chain of natural rock pools and palm gorges in the Anti-Atlas — is just over an hour inland and one of southern Morocco's most photogenic spots. Imouzzer waterfalls, the Argan-tree forests of the Souss, the souks and cafés of Agadir, the walled city of Taroudant (‘Little Marrakech') and the painted pink-granite landscapes of Tafraout are all within reach. The new coastal expressway has shortened the drive from Agadir Airport to about 45 minutes, making Taghazout one of the easiest international beach destinations in Morocco to reach.

Lets Get Tours provides fixed-price private Taghazout transfers from Agadir Airport, Agadir city, Essaouira and Marrakech, with surfboard-friendly vans, English-speaking local drivers, free meet & greet, flight monitoring and 24/7 booking. We also run dedicated Taghazout surf-spot shuttles between camps and breaks, Paradise Valley day trips, and intercity transfers to Marrakech, Essaouira and beyond. Whether you are arriving for a week at a surf camp, a yoga retreat, or a long winter remote-work stay, we make Taghazout transportation seamless, affordable and respectful of the village's slow, beach-side rhythm.
